How can we help?
Privacy & your data
Where are my journal entries stored?
On your device, encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key kept in your phone’s secure storage. If you turn on Cloud Backup in Settings, entries are also stored on our servers — but only as ciphertext, protected by a passphrase we never receive. Either way, we cannot read your journal. The trade-off is real: if you forget that passphrase, nobody can recover it for you.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. We never sell or trade your data, there is no advertising in the app, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites. We do use one product-analytics tool, PostHog, to see which features get used — a fixed list of event names only, never your journal or your struggle, and you can switch it off in Settings → Privacy. We share only the minimum needed with a few service providers (Supabase for your account, RevenueCat for subscriptions, Sentry for crash reports). See our Privacy Policy.
Is the struggle I select kept private?
From other people, yes — notifications never show it on your lock screen, so a reminder might show a verse but never the name of what you’re working on. From us, not entirely: your primary struggle is included in the progress backup on our servers, in a form our team could read, so that your streak survives a new phone. Your fuller onboarding answers are end-to-end encrypted and we cannot read those. We’re working to encrypt the rest. See Privacy Policy §2.
Notifications
How do reminders work?
All reminders are scheduled locally on your device — nothing is sent from a server and no push tokens are used. You choose which reminders are on and at what times.
Can I turn notifications off?
Yes. You can toggle any reminder on or off, and change its time, in the app’s Settings, or disable notifications entirely from your device settings.
Subscriptions & billing
What’s the difference between free and Pro?
The core daily verse, streak tracking, and SOS mode are available to everyone. Pro unlocks extras like tracking multiple struggles and the full devotional library. Exact features are shown in the app.
How do I cancel or restore a purchase?
Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play, so you cancel anytime from your Apple or Google account settings. To move a past purchase to a new device, use “Restore Purchases” in the app’s subscription screen.
Does cancelling delete my data?
No. Cancelling only ends Pro access at the end of your billing period — your journal, streaks, and history stay put, and you can resubscribe anytime.
Account & security
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from the app’s Settings. This removes your account and subscription records and clears the data stored on your device. If you have trouble, email info@singuard.org.
What is App Lock?
An optional privacy gate that asks for Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode each time you open the app — handy on a shared device. Your journal is encrypted whether or not App Lock is on.
